The Bengals have added two new players to their offensive line in the form of guards Alex Cappa and Ted Karras. Both were drafted sixth overall in the 2018 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. While with the Patriots‚ Karras earned a seven6.5 grade and had two sacks and eight quarterback hurries. The move is a big one for the Bengals‚ who are in need of a defensive line to protect their quarterback. The Bengals upgraded their offensive line on the first day of the legal tampering period. They signed veteran guards Alex Cappa and Karras to four-year deals worth $40 million each. While Cappa has won Super Bowl MVP awards‚ Karras has played center for the Patriots and Dolphins. Last season‚ he was rated in the top 25 by Pro Football Focus as a guard‚ and he also won the league's Most Valuable Player Award. On Monday‚ the Bengals signed veteran right guard Karras to a four-year‚ $40 million deal.

While Cappa is likely to be the starting right guard on Opening Day‚ the Bengals also added veteran center Alex Cappa to the offensive line. The four-year deal is valued at $10 million per year and will pay Karras $9 million in signing bonus and $2 million guaranteed roster bonus in 2022.
#Bengals fans, Alex Cappa is a solid starting RG who has improved every year in NFL. Don't know how high the ceiling is bc he lacks great tools/athleticism. But great technique is his calling card.
